Should i put up hand rails?

My husband is in his middle stages. He has not fallen yet. Should i put up hand rails in the showers and hallways now to prepare for the future.

Hi jojona, it is very good idea. I have bars in the shover and next to my bed . I get stiff in the morning so the bar helps me get out of bed . It is also good for exercise with stretch band . iI also have a stool in the shower , good when you want to wash your feet . Zlatica

Hi Jojoma,

Ziatica is right its a good idea.
My husband insisted that handrails go up in our new house, despite my protests that I didn't need them.
I will confess that there have been some mornings when I have had very stiff legs when I go up and down the stairs and I am glad they are there.

YES we put them at different, convenient locations and I don't even notice them. They have very pretty brushed nickel ones and some that are screwed in or suctioned. Any thing we can do to assist or keep us independent is a good thing.

What a good idea, you are obviously a forward thinking caring person. It is always better to be prepared, even overly prepared, than to leave things to the last minute.
