Parkinson's disease is a movement disorder often characterized by muscle rigidity, tremor, a slowing of physical movement, and in extreme cases, a loss of physical movement. I will take my 5th dose.and if not I'll be hurting in the morning at 6 00 am.
I'm supposed to take them every 4 hours. I set the alarm on my clock and if it goes off if I am in the middle of something I'll just turn it off and then in an hour wonder if I took my pills or not.
But the alarm is better than no alarm at all. I need to use the pill box that helps me - but I hardly ever do it. And then there is the protein, I wonder how much less pills I wold have to take if I watched the timing of my protein intake. Then don't even think about my vitamins. I'm supposed to take vitamins an hour after I take my meds - oh it is all just too much!!!
Sometimes I can walk better after the effects of the medicine has worn off. One thing for sure. Tomorrow will be a different day.......
Then I have days like yesterday when i remember turning off the 10 pm timer, but didn't put the day's supply in the bag and can't remember whether I took the pill or not because I was eating fish at the time and wanted to wait. I don't think I did, but not sure, so I held off taking it.
Today I added in a new alarm to take my Azilect pill that arrived yesterday.
My sleep schedule is wacky and changes every so often. I usually go to bed between 4-5 am, and get up around noon. Which means it is almost my bedtime.
As far as scheduling the dosages and such,
The PD Treatment Book (Ahlskog, Mayo Clinic) gives a great detailed description on developing the optimal dosing regimen for YOUR specific circumstances and conditions beginning at about pg 240 (If you dont have the book, I highly recommended it)
I am retired, so it is convenient to keep an exact schedule. On a couple occasions I have gone off to town without my pills and actually skipped a dose at mid day. My shaking symptoms get really bad on those days.
