Paula, i did the exact same thing, every little quiver that happened in my body, my mind was asking " Is this PD" then l became stressed, then the symptoms became worse

I think when l was newly diagnosed, and freaking out, l was so very conscious of my body, and what it was doing. Probably to conscious and looking for every little everything.

Honestly it took me a very long time to relax, and not stress , which has helped greatly.

So some of the symptoms l felt before, i just do not experience anymore .

A big lesson with PD is learning to not stress.

Paula, As a newly diagnosed PD patient, I wouldn't think your knees would buckle at your early stage. On the few occasions mine have buckled was more a result of losing my balance, but I'm in late stage 2/ early stage 3. I read where you are seeing your Neurologist this week and I'm sure you will discuss this with him. I also recommend you keep a personal journal with every symptom and side effect you have while going through this long term illness.

I'm alos sorry to read the PD has affected your job. Two weeks ago I was put on disability from my employer. I hated it but it will give me more time to spend with my aging parents.

Hi Paula, I had an issue with a hip giving out instead of a knee. I would go to take a step and could feel it, so would have to just stand for a moment until it would pass. I agree with keeping a diary of symptoms etc. My GP and neurologist are thrilled everytime I give them photocopies! I don't know if they look at them or not, but I feel better knowing I am keeping them informed.

Paula, I had my knee injected with cortisone, which helped me ,but then one day I tripped on the mat outside and fell on the driveway and you guessed it I broke my hip and I blamed that on loosing my balance with parkinsons. so be careful,good luck

Hi Paula. Yes, I've experienced this. My legs are strong, however I think the knees buckle from a slight motor tremor in the leg. Going down stairs I need to be a bit careful with the left leg. Do you find stairs an issue from time to time.

Hi Paula, I experience this every now & then, when either one or both my knees buckle..it only lasts a split second, I call it jokingly "Jelly Knee/s" as that's how it seems to me. Sometimes when walking my knee....it could be either one seems to give a little extra swing...it's hard to describe it. Thankfully though it hasn't caused me to fall as yet.
I personally don't worry too much about it and it may not be related to PD in my case as my old knees have took some heavy knocks down the years with playing soccer in my younger days and doing really heavy work in a steel foundry. If I was you I would seek sound advice from your Dr or Neuro, but only if it gets real troublsome.

Developd knee pain after taking sinamet. Has anybody experienced similar reaction ? If so how did you handle situation. Thanks for any input.

jjrfvd I stareted sinemet this past March and it just so happened my legs started hurting shortly after.After a few weeks the pain stayed on my left knee which began to swell. It makes walking even trickier and I ice it all the time. I guess I'll never know if it was sinemet or just my body...Still treating my knee at home.
