Yes, I had a bad time with this symptom in the early days. I first became aware of it when I woke to find my pillow stuck to the side of my face... as it happened mostly whilst I slept. I mentioned it to my Neuro and she adjusted my meds very slightly and after a few days it eased.
I don't have that problem much at all these days.. all I can say is have a word with your Neuro and maybe all it will take is a slight change in your meds or treatment etc...

People with PD dont have more saliva than people without PD they just swallow less often. As a result of this there ends up being an excess amount of saliva which then often results in drooling.
(there is a bit about Botox injections being approved in USA and to ask doctor if nothing else works..but I read that you have said that isnt an option)

Here are a few suggestions which may help prevent drooling and possibly some embarrassing moments:
.suck on hard candy, lozenges or gum to control excess saliva (if you are not at risk of choking)
.Use a straw when drinking to strengthen the muscles of the lips, mouth and throat
.try to keep your head up and your posture straight because stooping encourages drooling
.swallow first before you talk
.when you're not eating or talking, keep your mouth closed and your lips tight together (people with PD tend to let their jaw drop open which encourages drooling)
.breathe through your nose (~this will help keep your mouth closed which will then help to keep the saliva in your mouth)
.remind yourself to swallow to prevent saliva build up
.you may try rubbing a strong smelling lip balm over your mouth to remind you to swallow
.try putting one or two drops of atropine eye drops (0.5%) under your toungue to reduce the amount of saliva - this works for some people but you should check with your doctor first.

Evidently pineapple contains an enzyme which cuts down saliva production. He had tried this with great success.

If you can bare to do it,try sqirting a squeezy lemon into your mouth,this is a tried and tested method for travel sickness in dogs to stop them drooling.

Chewing a clove of simply holding a clove in the mouth for several hours can reduce drooling in some people.

I heard about Scopaderm patches that you stick behind your ears and which contain hyoscine - a drug primarily used to combat travel sickness but which has a side effect of dry mouth.

I realise the underlying problem is not over-production of saliva but the swallowing reflex - but less saliva also means less need for swallowing and the result is the same - less drooling.

The Scopaderm patches worked great for a while - but then they began causing a red, sore reaction behind his ears.
So we began to try the same drug - hyoscine - in tablet form. Bingo.

Most travel sickness tablets (Kwells, Joy-Rides) contain hyoscine and taking them has certainly improved my husband's quality of life.

Marijuana...Cannabis has a remarkable effect of drying up the mouth and is fun to do at the same time.

The only tip I have is that I have a stash of fresh pillow cases in my bedroom and change the pillow case every day. I also travel with them so I can change. I only have the problem at night. Also, being newly on amantadine, I have extremely dry mouth sometimes.

Kind of annoying but I feel great overall.

The Parkinson's medicine Artane isn't only good for tremor, it also drys the mouth, which may help the drooling.

I have excessive saliva or mucas mostly at night but not all the time..it causes me to cough, hot and cold sweats and ends to vomiting and even diarrhea. These episodes are getting worse and are scary. I don't know what triggers it and haven't found a doctor able to help. I do have neuropathy in both feet, diabetic and am on neurotic, lipator, and lexapro but this all started before going on these perscriptions am very stressed out about all this..any suggestions.

I notice you picture yourself with a guitar. One of my embarrassments is to have to swallow in mid phrase when singing. I have adopted a style that allows me an opportunity to clear my mouth between verses. That is an instrumental break or a I-V turn around for example. I stubbornly stick to my guitar and Bluegrass music because they are both good therapy for Parkinson's symptoms. When my meds are not spot on my right foot dances a jig to it's own tune.

My husband's MDS suggested chewing gum to reduce the drooling.
He hasn't really done it much so I can't really comment a great deal, but that was the suggestion anyway.
