Parkinson's Disease Support Group
Parkinson's disease is a movement disorder often characterized by muscle rigidity, tremor, a slowing of physical movement, and in extreme cases, a loss of physical movement. The primary symptoms of Parkinsons are due to excessive muscle contraction, normally caused by the insufficient formation and action of dopamine, which is produced in the dopaminergic neurons of the...
I wouldn't get too alarmed at the moment as the shakey hand/s could be a symptom of a few things. For years the experts down-played the genetic link but now they've had to accept the possibiltiy.
Tremours are the most common first sign though mainly affects one side. No two people with PD are the same and we all react differently to meds & treatments....
All I would say that if it becomes more troublesome I would get it checked out.... but please don't worry you'll be OK...
I wish you well Danielle.... Dirky ?;O))x
Other weird things I've noticed are heaviness in my legs and a feeling like my feet are sticking to the floor... leading to falls GRR!
I'll just monitor this and if it gets to troublesome, I'll have it checked out.
I would second everyone's advice that you see a movement specialist (probably a neurologist) for a definitive diagnosis. But to save on your resources, I also suggest some basic let-your-fingers-do-the-walking research.

If it turns out that you are dealing with Parkinson's, then deal with it. Meds and treatments are a whole lot better than they were a couple of decades ago... and more improvements are on the way.
And of course, you are welcome here. Hang out. Read. Jump in and ask questions.

Unfortunately, the more I read about PD, the more it sounds like this is it... which I really, really do not want to be true.
I've decided to calm down and wait a few weeks before consulting my doctor. Then, we'll and I'll be able to cope with it.
- At rest tremors in my right hand (since last week)
- My right arm barely moves as I walk, unless I force it to. When I do, it feels heavy; Just noticed after reading up on PD, guess it's been like this for a while;
- Dizzyness, like a black veil over my eyes, for the past 3 years;
- Unsteady legs, for the past three years. Several falls and noticed my right knew seems to be missing a beat as I walk
- Recently, I've noticed that I have to repeat myself: people either do not hear what I say, or do not understand. Put that down to lack of oxygen after the Pulmonary Embolism last year..
- Extreme fatigue, been falling asleep at my PC in the PM if I'm reading, yep at work. Worse since the end of April, but been going on for years. Put it down to the Coumadins.
Where the tremors in my right hand are concerned, I thought it might caused by recovering from a broken wrist (yep, I fell, trying to avoid the dog).
Please, please, tell me that something else could explain all these symptoms.
Also, can trauma trigger PD? My parents always told me that my great-aunt cause herself to have PD after her husband passed away and she didn't want to show her grief to her kids. My husband passed away in 2008 and, for the past 2 years, it's been one health issue after another culminating with the PE, when I could have died,.
You should go get it checked out by a neurologist. Stop torturing yourself.
Don't jump to the conclusion you have PD without getting all the other reasons for the feelings you have checked out first. Go to a neuro doc and find out for sure.
I've never heard of dizziness as a PD symptom, so it could be low blood pressure.
Take care and hope you get some answers.
