A DaTSCAN is a dopemine transporter scan, it's nuclear medicine and can diagnose PD.

As you say though Peach why else would your meds have a positive effect.

I still think that you're onto something, not in terms of diagnosis but as so many of us could relate to what you were saying it sounds like it's worth looking at.

I was recently diagnosed with PD after doing thousand of dollars of tests to prove that my herniated cervical discs and lumbar degeneration was not the cause of my back pain and loss of fine motor control on my right side. The symptoms of ulcer/reflux has been with me and the endoscopy was neg for pathology. So I am going to try a compounded pain reliever (will rub it into the area) to see if I can sleep. I found Marijuana was the best help so far to sleep. Anyone have gI pain and burning with PD. Will let you know if the transdermal pain reliever helps my low back pain.
