Parents Whose children have been sexually abused Community Group
This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
I know what you mean about taking things moment by moment. That has been our last two weeks pretty much, particularly this last week. Oldest dd is really struggling and we have had several crisis to deal with this week. You really learn to appreciate those good moments, those special little things. You appreciate their achievements more because you realise the struggle and effort to get there. You certainly see life through different eyes when you are facing healing from sexual abuse.
I used to plan things big time - short term, long term etc. That has changed too. If I plan a week ahead I feel unsettled now, not sure whether dd will be able to cope. We have to take things day by day. Sure brings you down to earth, but not the way my therapist is trying to do!
All the best. Has the kitten got a name? Our dd would love a cat but we have pet mice and a bird, so not a good mix!
My daughter named the kitten Kadence. I looked it up a few years ago when I was thinking of getting a dog and the meaning was "friend and companion". When I mentioned it, she loved it!! Flower Kadence is her name, but we call her Kadence!! :)
