Brokenmother, your daughter is in admirable company. Mother Teresa wrote that, even as a nun, she spent many years as an atheist because she could not reconcile human suffering with her understanding of God. I'm not sure if she ever returned to God herself, but she sure worked as if she had. That may be your daughter's true healing. If God exists, he will surely enjoy of working through your daughter as she becomes stronger and develops a deeper compassion for herself and others. If God does not exist, your daughter will still reap the healing comfort of finding and developing her talents and capacity for compassion.

Your daughter may or may not "be" bisexual, but she has reason to distrust all sexual interactions. It doesn't lessen your worry about her as she makes her way in the world. She is fortunate to be part of a generation that is light-years ahead of previous generations in terms of acceptance of different sexual orientations.

We are taught God is a compassionate,loving being,but then this happens to children of all people so I don't doubt we must question Him.A lot of teachings on how Jesus loved children,blesses those who bless children,teach your children well,bring your children to Him,how can someone who holds children so close to His heart allow them to be in so much pain? I told God I giving him a second chance of sorts,ask and ye shall receive, I have asked for healing for my daughter,complete healing,I am doing my part now He must do his part.And even though my daughter will not go to church right now I will continue to offer it to her,I will go for her and I will have faith for her.

Broken,I wonder if the bisexual thinking is the result of the abuse,my daughter has mentioned on several occasions bisexuality. Things like Mom what would you do if I was bisexual.not really saying she was but kind of feeling me out.I can imagine they want nothing to do with men.Women are more nurturing so it's no surprise after being abused they gravitate towards women.

Brokenmother, this is just my opinion, but I don’t believe in a God who is a micromanager causing certain thing to happen for any particular reason, or intervening because someone prayed hard enough using just the right words. On the other hand, I’ve experienced too many coincidences to dismiss the assumption that some sort of mysterious forces are at play in our lives. Where these forces come from, I don’t know. Modern believers in reincarnation would say that we each chose our path before we are born in order to bring each of us closer to enlightenment. Maybe we have guardian spirits working to mitigate the disasters we face? Maybe there is a combination of lots of factors.
The important thing is that you follow the spiritual path that is your truth at this time. If we pretend to follow any preset dogma that we do not believe, simply to keep up appearances or to please others, then we are perpetuating yet another cycle of silence. It’s fine to smile and nod if we don’t want to argue, but don’t suffer other people telling you how you should feel any more than you would tell your own child how she should feel about what happened to her.
