This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !

If you did not watch Oprah Friday you should go on her site and watch it or read the transcript. It was about the 16 year old boy that killed his molester of three years, which I do not condone murder,,,,but certainly understand his rage and hopelessness. I have been praying that a show would come on about the subject that i could have my teenagers watch that wasn't too graphic. Her series of the 200 men that came forward was too much for my kids, very graphic.
Sad thing about the parents of this boy, they did everything right. They looked him up on the internet and did not let him go to his alone for odd jobs without them for a year. Then he worked his way into (groomed the parents too) the family and he started the molesting. They are experts at this. I do not trusty ANYONE anymore when it comes to my kids.
Let me know what you guys thougth of that episode.

i haven't seen that one yet. I did watch the 200 men, sobbed during the whole show.

I did too. I cried and cried at what those men had been through and how it has effected their lives.

Did not see it, but when I get up the courage I will look it up and watch. What brave men to be able to talk about it! This ugliness needs to be Stopped!!!!!

I haven't had the chance to watch it, but will when I'm alone. We need to get the word out, we need to break the silence, and people need to know that until it is no longer swept under the rug, it will continue! Every molester is someone's son, brother, cousin, uncle, mom....protecting them only breeds more abusers!!!

My ex groomed my daughter for 6 years and only had raped her a month previous to me finding out. Every single movement in his life (and ours) was preparing for that. It is the scariest thing in the world to me, to know that they will spend years just to reach their goal. One cannot sit and think of that for a long period of time in fear of literally going insane. Al least that is how I feel about it.

Sweeping under the rug is what my inlaws are trying to do, I won't let them. You are right protecting them only breeds more abusers.
That is horrible about your daughter. The molesters are so patient and will groom for years if that is what it takes. We need to keep up the fight and keep getting the word out.
