This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !

I feel like my depression is getting worse instead of better. I don't even know what to say to the counselor when i see her. I don't enjoy anything and i feel empty inside. I am back in my room most of the time and i can barely drag myself out of bed again.

YOU are not making your daughter feel bad. Your reactions are to be expected (even if she doesn't understand that). You are learning how to deal with the unthinkable, the uncontrollable, and you're going to take some different steps now to deal with it, ones that will help you to smile and laugh more easily. Your daughter will learn as she grows that your response to her disclosure is because you love her so much.

Along with pizza and cake, how about a movie? Some non-animated, silly, fun ones with minimal to no sensuality and the very, very mildest of violence include "Singin' in the Rain," and "The Princess Diaries."

Check into local churches for groups nearby. I look for big churches generic brand churches that have lots of programs. There might be a group for grief, anger is a popular one right now, depression, recovery based groups, sometimes not all the groups are advertise and might be great to call. Hospitals have depression groups sometimes. I'm not in the UK but perhaps someone else here could lend some tips. At the very least maybe a weekly woman's group.

Agreed not your fault,everyone has to deal with it before moving on.its a death,a death of a life you thought you had.This is your new life,now you just have to figure out what you want this new normal to be.One day at a time

Good to hear!!!! So glad your spirits lifted....sometimes that's all I've needed to lay bare my heavy thoughts and emotions are uncensored and the next day I get a little wind in my sails. Big hugs to you. One day at a time. Depression is a bugger.
