Parents Whose children have been sexually abused Community Group
This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !

As you know, I believe completely in the power of prayer. I read somewhere that as much pain and suffering is in our journeys, it would be that much more discouraging if we didn't know that at least there was a bigger outside source holding us together, answering prayers and loving us! I don't want to live in a world where we simply suffer for sufferings sake.
Anyways, if you think of me, please also pray for me as currently I am due to go in for a mammogram and sonogram due to a lump I found in my breast. I am only 37! We really don't want to deal with another cancer crisis so hoping for the best!
(Ladies, do your self checks!)
Love to all of you.
My spirituality got sucked out of me in an instant during the time my daughter was being abused — and I didn’t even know about the abuse until 15 years later. It was a definite moment, completely out of the blue. She was across the street at the abuser’s house, and I was praying and suddenly God wasn’t there, only the sound of wind in my ears (I was indoors). After I learned about the abuse, I thought, “God left me to go save my daughter” — and I was perfectly okay with that! It’s a tradeoff we all would happily make, right? But this relapse has left me bereft in a way that maybe you can relate to as your darkest worries when your son was ill. Everything that helped me before is not helping now, and instead of feeling supported by God, I am feeling betrayed. That’s just where I am. Angry, hurt, abandoned and scared to death.
Fluctuating between hope and hell is exhausting.
One evening, I was alone, weary, and exhausted. I was in the midst of extensive traveling, disconnected from friends and family. I had flown home for the evening, but it seemed like nobody noticed. People were used to me being gone.
It was late at night, and I began arguing with God.
“I’m out there working hard. I’m lonely. I need to know someone cares. You’ve told me to tell You what I need, and tonight, God, I particularly need the presence of male energy. I need a friend, someone I can trust to care about me in a nonsexual, nonexploitive way. I need to be held. Now, where are you?”
I lay down on the couch and closed my eyes. I was too tired to do anything but let go.
The telephone rang minutes later. It was a former colleague who had since become my friend. “Hey, kid,” he said. “You sound really tired and needy. Stay right where you are. I’m going to drive out and give you a foot-rub. It sounds exactly like what you need.”
Half an hour later, he knocked on my door. He brought a small bottle of oil with him, and gently massaged my feet, gave me a hug, told me how much he cared about me, then left.
I smiled. I had received exactly what I asked for.
It is safe to trust God.
Today, I will remember God cares about what I need, especially if I do.
