A group that tries to share with each other how they deal with being a good supporting parent of a prisoner and the unique problems that arise. What to share or not, how to deal with spouse of prisoner, ex-spouse of, children of prisoner which we may not see either anymore,so forth

I finally got the letter that I think most of us have gotten. The one that my son wrote apologizing for everything he has done. Sorry he's put me through all this. Sorry he's done this to his family. Promises that when he gets out he will change. Will make up for everything he has done. Thanking me for being there for him and telling me that I'm the best mom in the world and he loves me very much.

So why did I cry when I read it? Why am I still crying just thinking about it?

Oh how we love to hear those words of love. I believe when a person apologizes they really mean it. And we just have to accept the apology as it is and pray and trust in our children and always be there for them.

I am so very glad any time Eddie calls or writes me....I consider it a blessing...He is alive!

Beautiful! This is one of the reasons why I prefer letters to telephone calls and even visits. Letters make the author own the words they write. What a wonderful gift.

I am glad you got the letter and apology! I, too, think they mean it when they write it and should be accepted as such!

Especially from those not very good at telling us the words we long to hear!

I had to practically tie my son down today for a kiss on the cheek! LOL! Not really, but he gave me a bad time about wanting one and was teasing me.

I believe it is a turning point in their lives when they call and say those things or write too!

Enjoy .....even the tears...they are of gratitude that he is showing how much he cares and KNOWS he needs you! Nothing wrong with that!

And yes....a WONDERFUL gift of love returned and heartfelt too!
What a beautiful way to start your weekend! And ours too! I think you choked us all up too! We are thrilled for both you and him....a new beginning!

The little one has figured out he can sit and he can turn over so changing the diaper is a major feat now! LOL! Irritating too!

Well off to do a little something here before the little one needs me again.
