Parents of Children with ADHD Support Group
This community is designed as an open forum where the parents and guardians of children with ADHD (Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) can give and receive support, as well as discuss ideas, techniques, concerns, surprises, and challenges they may face with their children.
Can anyone recommend a good learn-to-type program that has worked for them? My son is going into Grade 5 and I know there will be a lot of reports etc for him to complete this year, and his life would be SO much easier if he learned to type.
Last year I bought "Type To Learn" for him, but he gets so frustrated with it, because if he makes a mistake, the voice prompts tell him and point out where the correct key is (which is supposed to be helpful in learning), but he gets so annoyed that we get nowhere with it. He's also quite slow at learning, so he needs something that you can control the pace - a lot of typing games online need you to go at a certain speed, which he is unable to do.
Any suggestions at all would be most helpful. Thanks so much!

Katie is only 5 years old but loves the computer. I thought I'd get her started with typing early. I bought Brain Play but it's for preschool through 1st grade. It's kind of a learn and play format. It came with 3 other learning games. She loves the others but she gets so mad when she can't get the typing right. It will tell her what her score is and how many words she can type a minute. She has a very low frustration level. Hopefully that will get a little better in time. Your son might like it because it uses carton people from "The Lion King Movie". I can't type so I'm thinking maybe I better try her disk...lol...it looks like fun.

when I was a kid there was a mario typing game, you had to press the right key to make him jump... it's been years but maybe if you google it you can find it? I always had fun with it

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
