My son is 7 and has ADHD, we found 14 months ago. He has been off his meds since the end of August because we moved and I am having trouble getting him and myself and my yougest son on insurance were we live. I homeschool him too because he was having some trouble last year in public school and when I tried to get him some help they wouldnt help. But I am having trouble with him not listening and forgetting things way to fast and he gets bored alot faster too. I know alot of it has to do with the ADHD, my mom knows first hand with me, my sisters, my step brother and herself, all having it in some form. So she helps alot with the homeschooling and ideas of ways to do things.
I am just lost on what else I can do for him. I have a 19month old son too and I dont want him to feel like I am not giving him enough of my time by giving his brother all my time and then there is also my school work (i am a full time college student taking classes online). I am just so lost right now and with the holidays coming up now things are getting harder and harder everyday.

Hi tbbrandyn, I may not be a parent of an ADHD child as such, but have a daughter who struggles to concentrate. My heart went out to you as I read your story. I am a Dutch medical doctor, living abroad. In recent months I have come to know of a product called 24K, voted the best new product in the year 2011 with a Stevie award. It has 24 natural ingredients that work directly on the brain to help it to focus, concentrate and relief stress . I have given it to my daughter during her semester final exams in college, and also to my son, in his 3rd year . They both have benefited greatly and said they could focus much longer. I have spoken to parents who are using it for their ADHD children with very good success. Could give you names and numbers if needed.

i cant offer any real advise at the moment, i too feel lost and powerless of what is the right way to go but i do hear you and you are not alone hopfully you will find some comfort in that :D

Thank you. I will look at the 24K and see what it all is. There are times that he just dont want to do anything and when we try to get him to do something he will do it for like 5 mins and say i am bored or i can do it, when i know he can because he did it the day before. I am just so lost right now. I am i a new state, i lived in Tn and moved to Mississippi, and things here are so different then what i am so used to back where i am from in Middle Tenneesse. The mother in me wants to do anything that i can do for my son and do what is best for him but right now i feel so helpless because he does not have his meds and i cant get him on insurance right now till i can go to TN and get his birth certifcate as well as mine. They are so hard on the rules here and everything just have to be perfect or they wont do anything here. I just wish that there was something else that I coul do more than what i am doing right now. i know he needs more and its hard with my 19 month old running around and i have to give him some of my time too and there is also my school work and my boyfriend. I have other things going on too and i am trying to get it all worked out for he best right now and its just seems to not be going good. I was not really looking forward to the holidays because of what has been going on with me in the last 2 1/2 months but i have to be strong for my boys and i am trying but i am just so lost right now. there are times that i lay in bed and just cry because i feel like i have failed my boys and i dont know what to do. there are even tims that i wish was back in my hometown where i know what i need to do and where to go there and know how to get it wokred out but here i dont because i dont know anything here or anyone here. i just feel like a bad mom at times even though i kow i am not because if i was i wouldnt have moved to get my family(me, my two boys and my boyfriend) away from people that was trying to tear us apart. i just dont know what to do any more.

Dear tb, you are definitely going through a lot, trying to take care of your kids and managing your own life as best you can. That shows great character and love for your family. Do you have a job and is there a possibility of getting emotional support from friends and family members who you trust??
In the end you are never alone, God knows about your situation.

Thanks. I am trying to find something in the area but since we are new here dont know who to talk to or who to call to. But i am working on it and seeing what i can do and what is out there for us. My email is tbbrandyn@yahoo.com I have thought about getting a part time job so that i can get out of the house some and make some friends but with my boyfriends wokr hours and my moms 2nd shift its kind of hard. I get up early with the boys, by 9 we are feed and starting homeschooling and i am trying to get some of my work done and then lunch around 12 and done with homeschool by 2 monday thru friday and then i am still trying to get my work done, house work done and spending time with my boys. its a little hard right now i am trying to get things under way.
