Parenting 'Tweens (9-12) Support Group
This community is focused on the joys, challenges and concerns faced by parents of tweens (9 to 11 year olds). The major areas of child development include: physical development, perception and sensory development, communication and language development, cognitive development, emotional development and social development.
I have a 10 year old son who will sneeze up to 20 times in a short period of time every morning after he gets up. This has been going on for at least six months. Otherwise he's healthy although in the summer he suffers from headaches(doesn't seem to be related to the sneezing) which I'm hoping is from dehydration when it's hot. Has anyone else gone through this? He doesn't sneeze constantly at any other time. We've tried washing his bedding more and it doesn't help. It also doesn't seem to matter if he sleeps with windows open or closed or if the windows in the rest of the house are open or closed. It even happened at someone else's house with different bedding.

sneezing AND headaches sounds like sinuses. Have him see an allergist.

my step son has the same thing in spring an summer seasons. it turned out to be allergies. when he wakes up sneezing with his morning headaches he as a nose spray, two sprays up each nose and he's good to go

I did/do the same thing. Its allergies from pollen, and I get it from Sept - Feb. After the 20 or so sneezes I'm fine for the rest of the day. also the headaches are due to the allergies.

I had the same thing, I'd sneeze like crazy just in the morning for about the first hour, and my nose would run. I starting using "Allergen Block" and it really works! Just a tiny little tube and you put a dab on your finger and rub it on and under your nostrils and it somehow deactivates the live allergens. I never sneeze anymore!- I hate sounding like a commercial, but it seriously worked!

Or maybe mold. If you live in a somewhat humid climate try using a dehumidifier.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
