Parenting 'Tweens (9-12) Support Group
This community is focused on the joys, challenges and concerns faced by parents of tweens (9 to 11 year olds). So my daughter has been wetting the bed since 3 years old. I have taken her to numerous doctors and had several tests done. So far nothing seems to be medically wrong with her. We have tried everything that we could think of. Encouragement, anger, doctors, pull-ups and more. I just don't know what to do. My husband and I are at our whits end. She is at the point where sleepovers are going to be happening. I have tried explaining it to her, and all she can say is that her bladder doesn't wake up her in time. She seems to hold it as long as possible while she is awake as well. She has had several UTI's and bladder infections. She knows that the easiest way to stop those is to go when she needs to. I just don't know what else to do? Any ideas?
we did research that showed there is a curve of bedwetting -- which shows like 3% of men still wetting by time they join the army (army collected this data) -- theory is there are just normal curves of either the sound sleepers or those that don't pay attention to the "full" trigger -- the alarm system teaches them to pay attention to that trigger, wake up before too late. good luck!
