Hi there! My DD is 27 months and weighs about 31 lbs. She's about 36 inches tall. Your girls are tall which is awesome!

My daughter is almost 2 and she is about 32" and only 27lbs...but her cousin who is three months older is 36" tall and about 35lbs, and the docs say he is healthy but very high up on the growth charts.

My daughter is very tall like your girls. At 4 she's 45 inches tall and 40ish lbs. She's always been in the 95% for her height, so I know where you are coming from. It's crazy how fast you go through clothes when they grow so quickly! One thing that I can tell you about having a tall child is that people tend to expect more from them because they seem like they are older. Like in school, since Lauren looks like a 5 year old, it's hard for people to realize that she's 4 (or was 3 at the time) so it was ok that she couldn't write her name and stuff like that. And really it makes sense to me, so just watch for that. Not that it's a problem really, people just need to be reminded that although they are tall, they aren't actually as old as they look. Another thing, when I went to my ped. for her 4 yr appointment he told me to be ready for people to say things about her weight in school (which seriously, in Kindergarten already, but apparently from talking to other Mom's yes they start being mean even then). He just meant that because she's taller, and even though she's skinny, she will weigh more than the other kids..which yes makes sense. So he told me to just not worry about it, but to keep that in mind. Crazy that girls have that to worry about already if you ask me. But anyway, having a tall kid is fun, but just keep those things in mind that I've learned from having one :)

At my DD's 2 year check up last week she was 36 1/2" tall & 27.2lbs. She was pretty high on the growth charts for height, and average for weight.....although height to weight ratio was on the lower side, however it's been that way all her life so it's normal for her. I'm always getting asked if she's older, or when I say her age people are surprised she's only just turned 2. I guess she's just tall for her age....something I'm very happy about, as I'm a short person lol ;) I don't know what the average height is, but she's taller than her cousins, one is 4 months older & the other is 2 months older. It's funny because she's the youngest of the 3 yet she looks like the oldest :)

Thanks for the input! I find myself once in a while expecting more from them too, then have to remind myself that even though they are very intelligent and look older, they are only 2! :) It's really interesting - when they were born they were about 5.5 pounds, and ever since they have been big for their age. (Not overweight, by any means, very well proportioned, and beautiful!) :)

My 2yr old sister is 34inches tall, 29lbs

my 2 yr old is about 38 h and 33 w she towers her 2 yr old cousin whos 3 months older,

My daughter is usually in the 90% and often mistaken for a 3yr old..she's not even 2.5 yet. She's at least 30pounds and about 36in tall. She wears mostly 3T

my son is about to turn 3 in october and at his last check last week i believe he was up to about 37 inches and 32 lbs. It measured out to be about 3 foot 1 inch. He is also in 4t clothes. His older sister will be 6 in october and is already at 49 inches and just a smidge under 50 lbs! some kids are just made to be bigger! mine have always been big and genetically they are made to be that way. we have lots of tall people in the family.

My DD is in the 98th percentile on the growth charts, meaning she's very tall. People at stores always assume she's much older, when she was younger they would ask her questions she didnt have the words to answer. I just always answered for her. People are also shocked that she is two, since her birthday is in Sept I have started saying she's almost 3 instead. She really has no idea that she's any different than other kids her age. And really she's not, she's just tall which can be an incredible asset.

My twin girls are the opposite...no one believes they are 3 years old.
They are both healthy and beautiful too, just tiny.
One is 25 lbs and the other is 26lbs and some of their 18 month old clothes still fit them!
Our pediatrician blames it on genetics.

Its funny because I have been having the same concern with my daughter! She will be 3 in November and she is 37 pounds and 37 inches. My Niece & Nephew (my sisters kids) are both tall for their age too and she plays with them the most so I didn't think she was so big for her age. It wasn't until I noticed her playing with some 4 year old girls recently that I realized that she is pretty much the same size as them. Everyone assumes shes older and are surprised when I say shes 2 1/2.

My 22 month old is off the charts for height. I don't even know what it is now. It was 34" at 18 months. Her weight is 27 pounds, which is not too much above average. Everyone thinks she's over 2 years old. I think that will make it harder in the future. If you look older, you're expected to act older. Already, people ask her, "What's your name? How old are you?" She can't answer those questions yet!
