I would say around age 3. Every child is different though. So I would go with what you feel is best for your child. My son is still in a crib( he is 22 months) but I think I'm probably going to try putting him in a bed around 3 years old. I hope that helps. Good luck.

My son was 18 months when we moved him to his toddler bed.

25 months to toddler bed. Would of been sooner but we lost the conversion hardware to the crib when we moved lol. 32 months into a big big bed.

I myself am debating what age I'd like my now 25 month old to make the switch. She takes change well and fits many if not all the criteria of it being successful (she is so independent and thrives on change and encouragement to do something that big girls do) but it's not a good time for us. She is finally having success with potting training after about 6 months of training so I'm going to stick with that before I introduce any change. My goal is to have her in underware by the time the summer is over, then wean her off her finger (she sucks her finger when soothing herself to sleep) and then the toddler bed will be introduced when success of that is complete... hopefully by the time she's 3.

So really it's up to you theletter12 when you feel your little one is ready. If he or she is currently undergoing a big change already such as potty training then it's best to put it off until that goal is complete. If all is a go and you notice he or she is eager to be a big kid then take advantage of that enthusiasm since that makes it easier in making the transition a positive one.

I put my older two in a toddler bed at 3 years old (more or less) and will probably do the same with my youngest. I don't think there is a right or wrong age. Some are in them before they are two and some are not. Whatever works for you and your child is the best.

For my oldest, she was almost 3. And my second is 2 years and 4 months and I will not be putting her in a toddler bed until around 3. I have tried using my nephews bed when I am over at my sisters but she always gets up and wants to play. In her crib, I can put her down and she goes to bed asap since she cant get out.

We moved our son to a toddler bed when he was 18 months. The decision was made because we felt he was capable to lift his leg and eventually jump off his crib. He loved his new bed and enjoyed his freedom to get out when he woke up. Make sure you dont have a problem with that

My two and half year old is still in a crib. He has not attempted to climb out. Not sure when we will make this transition!

We are in the process of moving our DD to the "big girl bed" now. She is 13 months, but is actively attempting to flip herself out of the crib. I am also due with another baby in 3 months and will reuse the crib for him.
My only issue is she is so young and won't stay in the bed. She wants to play with the window curtains and blinds. Any advice on how to stop that!!!

my daughter was 17 months. Her crib broke when we moved and i didnt want to buy a whole new crib when i knew she wouldnt be in it much longer anyway.

my son was around the same age. probably closer to 18 months. He was literally biting chunks of wood out of the crib and it was a convertible crib with thick rails, so we couldnt put a teething guard on it.

my daughter was just a few weeks under 3 when she moved into a twin bed (we were using the small mattress in the toddler bed for our son's crib). currently our son is 3 and half. We will be moving him into a full bed for his birthday. He is just way too tall to keep in the toddler bed any longer.

Starting the process now (DD will be 2 1/2 at the end of this month). She is falling out of it and sleeping on the floor most of the time though, I hope she gets the hang of it soon, for her sake - it can't be too comfortable sleeping on the rug. Her bed is only about 4 inches off the floor, but still I wish she wasn't falling out of it at night!

We put my son in a toddler bed when he jumped out of his crib 19 times one night. I'm not kidding, 19 times! We use the daybed option on his crib so it still has one full crib side and then a rail. The rule is he can sleep anywhere he wants, but it has to be in his room. Up until recently he has chosen to sleep on the floor, but now sometimes he picks his bed. As long as sleeps I don't fight it....

DD was 20 months when we put her in a toddler bed. We needed the crib for baby #2 and we wanted to start early in case she had a rough transition (which she didn't at all, she did great with the switch).
