I dont think it is anything you have done, she sounds like she is just finding out about the world around her and picking up food in her hands is one way of doing this! She is experimenting with new things and seeing what hapens, maybe if you give her more attention when she crawls or says "eh" she is continuing to do it. Sometimes children do regress when a new sibling is born, my little girl suddenly wanted to use a bottle and sit on the potty because her baby brother is getting a lot of attention and maybe subconciously she wants to be a baby again, but I dont think this is the case with you. I would ignore as much of it as you can, but praise her when she walks and eats with a fork. With regards to her pointing at things and saying "eh" just point to the object yourself and say the name of it and try and get her to repeat it, if she does make a big fuss of her. She is still very young though and she will probably continue to master new skills and then apparently "regress" for a while. I think this is all part of normal development.

Molars on the move maybe? You've been posting a myriad of problems related to your DD lately. It could all be related to teething and the timing is just about right for them to be working their way in. Perhaps her jaws, teeth, and gums are sore and it hurts to talk or eat. Molars hurt like heck when they come through. It'll even throw off her balance, which might be why she is crawling. Its totally normal.

I've wondered about teething. She only has three teeth, an her third one just came in and is only about halfway out.

The spitting up issue stopped when I started mixing her sippy's half whole milk and half 2%.

She says 'eh' for the things she knows, and 'wassat?' for the things she doesn't. If she asks what something is and we tell her, lets say duck, she will go 'eh' so we repeat 'duck' then she repeats 'eh' and it will go on until we give up.

I hope it's just a stage she's going through as I was enjoying the clean eating and the new word learning!

My dd did this too. She has all her teeth but one day she was really concentrating on using a fork and spoon correctly and now she starts out using it and ends with using her hands. Im not sure abou the talking tho...My dd has always been a HUGE talker and she talks all the time. I noticed she crawls a lot more lately but she is doing it as playing...Is your dd doing it as playing or the only source of mobility? I think they miss being a baby and they realize they are growing up and getting bigger. As they get bigger we treat them like they are bigger, and they miss being the babies. Not sure if that is fact but thats what I think.

I agree with KELEBEK, she may just feel the need for more attention, now that you are giving her more freedom and are not fussing about her so much. I have a child in my class who does these things, and I remind her the word she needs to say, and she has to say it before she gets what she wants. I also tell her to repeat the right way to ask, say to her" Say 'I , want, more, juice please' waiting for her to repeat each word and then having her repeat the phrase. If you say it nicely, it will work, if you don;t she will win her battle. She is trying to get negative reinforcement from you and make you upset. For reasons not entirely known, it is fun to get adults upset. Keep showing her how to use the fork the right way by modeling and making it fun. She needs to enjoy it. But continue to not give in until she has done what you ask, it is important to keep control instead of just fixing the problem by continuing to allow the negative behavior. let me know if it works! you are not being mean, it's consistent!
