OT-Cupcake Recipes

So the lady who did my daughter's first birthday cake, and I was hoping would do her second, is booked up solid until November. So it looks like I am on my own!

I thought I would make cupcakes. But I don't want to make just plain jane vanilla or chocolate ones. I also don't want to make seaweed and pine nut cupcakes that the kids won't eat! :)

So I'm on the hunt for easy, tasty, cupcake recipes! Her birthday isn't until August, but I'd like to give the ones I really like a run before I make a whack of them.

And any icing recipes are welcome too! Thanks lady's!

Go to allrecipes.com. If I can find it, I'll send you the icing recipe I used for my daughters 1st. But you should check there, go with the highest ratings, they always win! ;)

funny, I just made some cupcakes with my granddaughter....we made chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting - the frosting is what makes these so yummy...I found the recipe on the food network's website - very tasty!

What about almond cupcakes? I love the taste of almond cake, it's very subtle but different. DH's cousin had an almond cake for her DD's first birthday party & the kids all seemed to enjoy it! I also like the idea of peanut butter, whether it's icing or the cake batter itself.

mmmmmmm....peanut butter icing sounds sooo good lol but some of the kids at the party will have peanut allergies :(. I may have to make that on my own just for my little family!

my cousin posted a link to a chocolate/ banana marble muffin that looked yummy (I don't know the link but I'm sure you could find it with a search) i sent carrot cake cupcakes to my son's preschool when he turned 3 years ago. What are her favorites? Maybe she can inspire something!

broccoli lol. I really wish the lady who did it last year could do it this year :(. She was really cheap and it was the best cake I've ever tasted!

Marlow loves peanut butter, but due to allergies...I can't have it even out. Her cousin is so allergic he breaks out if he get's within a few feet of peanut butter.

She loves pineapples...but I'm very unskilled in the kitchen area. Like, cupcakes sometimes look more like chunks of half cooked half burned dough bad...lol. That's why I was hoping someone had a dummy proof cupcake recipe! :)

If you're really that bad with cupcakes.. lol.. try a box mix for the cake itself, then make your own icing. I hate the icing in a can you buy from the store and always make my own. I can't find the one I made before, I think I used two recipes together. I tend to do things different.
