I use Motrin at night..and the during the day I try and give her foods that she can gnaw on...seems to help. We get through most days with out anything..just at night I want her to get rest. I've never tried anbesol..but some people swear by it..and my daughter care for the teething rings..but she enjoys cold things..and even ice water:)

There might be another brand too...people always mention Humphreys or something..but not sure if they just have the name wrong

I haven't seen or heard anything about this latesT "recall". Can you post a link? I know that 3 years ago there was an issue with some children being poisoned by them because of the belladonna extract that is in them. Basically what happened was there was no structured way to evenly distribute the amount of ingredients altogether in each tablet. As a result of some quirk in production some children were overdosing on the belladonna (deadly nightshade). the symptoms of even a mild OD are very obvious: severe lethargy, glazed eyes, etc. Anyway, acetemenophen and ibuprophin cause liver damage when used daily, or when over dosed. NSAIDs cause kidney failure. The point in these is all things in moderation, I would say. Anyway, I was curious about the Hylands. I have one due in 5 weeks and those have always worked great for my children. I've tried all the other substitutions and they didn't do much. Could be the whole every person is different and reacts differently to different things. Thanks!

It was a voluntary recall, but the FDA and Hylands basically say it's the same reasons in some of the other articles. It's the administration of the belladonna in individual tablets again.

I loved those things, lol, they were like magic! We called them Marlow's happy pills! But now I won't be using them for awhile and she is a miserable teether, with no teeth and a mouthful left to grow!

There is another homeopathic that we love called "Camilia" made by Boiron. They are a prefilled liquid tube that I think works better than hylands

What sort of stores do you find that at? I'm in Canada, and at Walmart and Shoppers Drug Mart it's just Hylands. And we aren't lucky enough to have Target and all those other billions of stores! lol. But we may have the chain you find that at, I can hope anyways!

cool, I live in rural wy, we have a walmart within like 150 miles. so thankful for my walmart

I don't know if it's true or not, I never gave my daughter anything except ibuprofen for teething, but I read somewhere that the reason they were recalled was the tablet sizes were inconsistent, thus making the dosage that way too. The person said they called the company and they told them that they're fine, you just need to be more careful about how much you give them. So if one tablet is larger, and you're giving them 2, make sure the second one is smaller. Like I said, I've never used them, so take that for what it's worth :)

Little Remedies makes a homeopathic teething tablet. I found it at Babies R Us...dont know if you have one of those.
