Honestly I just took my daughters bottle away. It was hard the first week but she eventually didnt need it anymore. She uses sippy cups now for the most part. Even in bed sometimes although now Im trying to break that habbit. We did do half milk and half water for a few weeks before we took the bottle. Hope this helps. :)

We waited until my daughter was 22 months old (loong story) but then the perfect opportunity presented itself: she had the stomach flu and the ped. said "no milk!" So although we had to go cold turkey we couldn't turn back because it would make her sicker. It was a rough week but after that she was fine. We substituted a milk bottle with a water sippy and she has that while she has stories and her pre-laydown cuddle. Occasionally she will still ask for a bottle or milk but we just remind her she is a big girl now. We do give her a sippy of milk and a snack bowl of cereal to munch during our living room wind-down time to tide her over to morning.

Just give your daughter the same amount of milk in a sippy cup. Thats what we did for my daughter and we only got attitude from her for about a week and then she was fine. Good luck!

Are you looking to cut out the bottle and the milk? I'm confused...if it's jut the bottle then sinking shae said and jut out the milk in a sippy. That's what we do...he stillngets milk before bed it's just in a cup now instead. My son was older though when we cut it out...he's 21 mints and going on about 6 weeks with no bottle. Once we saw that he was drinkic a good amount from the cup we went cold

She really won't take milk from her sippy- just water....
So the doctor said that she will be fine w/out the milk. I am worried about cutting the bottle because I don't know how she will sleep at night- will she be hungry in the middle of the night etc....

My doc told me that by around a year a baby no longer needs to eat in the middle of the night, it's just habit.

If she refuses to drink milk out of a sippy cup maybe try a different kind? Mar was on a sippy cup by six months, her choice, and it took some trying before we found one she would drink milk from. She is 22 months now, but she started drinking from a regular cup at about 14 months. Now it's just the cup, unless we are out and about, then I have a sippy with us. Maybe try milk from a regular cup for her? Or with a straw?

My daughter goes through battles of not drinking milk, and I mix it with Yop to get her to start again, then wean out the yop. Can you try something like that in the sippy to get her going?

I also just took the bottle away and offered a sippy cup of milk before bed. It's better to subsitute the milk with a different container than the routine all together. I hope that works.
