First I want to thank Justme01, for bringing My Space up in the first place.
Then, if I could ask, I am not very computer literate, barely managed to find DS(lol). I too, struggle with our computer being used by my 13yr. old step-son. About six mos. ago, I found some very disturbing sites that had been accessed. He had a My Space page where he was passing himself off as 19 yrs. old and there were numerous porno sites, some that had under-aged girls on them.
My husband and I spoke to him several times and each time, he only managed to become sneakier. He was actually getting up at 4am, b4 school so he could get on the computer. I finally figured out how to put a password on to access the internet at all, it takes ten min. after someone has been on, b4 it defaults to putting in the password. Just when I thought we had remedied the problem, I found that he had been waiting for us to get off of the computer and then getting on b4 the password was needed.
Anyway, if anyone could send me some information or advice on other ways to keep him off of the computer, other than getting rid of it or disabling every time.
Sorry this got so long and thank you for your input in advance.

I added Spector Pro. It has been a godsend. I know everything my 14 year old does on the computer and how long she has been on and password to myspace is captured. And she knows I know.

this might not come a cross well but i do have a different view point, as a teenager parenting a teenager i kinda see both sides. but my only advice is teenagers are incredibly tech savvy ,he will always find a way on, so maybe you could implement a reward system were he is allowed on the internet but only at times were you and your husband are in the room then when he eventually proves that he can have a little rope and you can allow him to have his myspace but he must give you is log on info. so that you can check what hes doing

I read at my space on my daughters site that Dad is so stupid I got to go to my friends house and chill because I wrote my spanish words on my leg and he quized me at the table and I got all of them right. I wrote back to her that I was in the process of deleting all of her files and screen name from the computer. This worked well all of her pictures music and files were gone and if she was on my space again it would happen again. There was some foul language and a picture that she was forbidden to post. She is eighteen now and we are still monitoring. She backs up her files too. Love, punishment, rewards nothing fool proof nothing easy sorry.

you can call your internet provider and ask what to do to block the site from being accessed on your computer - when the kids type a myspace address they get need administrator password and gee I seem to forget it all the time. My space is horrible and the things we found out were worse than we thought about SD's site. take a stand children will appreciate it in the long run:)
