Hi everyone...I am a very exhausted mother of two. I have a wonderful husband that helps me very much. Anyone with twins out there?

Everything use to be peaceful in my house. Til three months into the teens and my daughter has managed to leave us speachless so many times aleady....What are we gonna do??? Pushing, pushing, pushing it.

My son is the silent conspirer just laying in wait I'm afraid. Teenagers, how did this happen so fast? They were just little things and now they are both bigger than me.

Maybe they will continue to be the wonderful kids they've always been. Is that possibe in todays world? Even though I raise them very strickly there are so many available temptations for them. How can you really help them the most?

As a sub teacher in a middle school I tell them that it's all temporary insanity. When the hormones calm down then their brains will begin to work normally again! I guess our job is to get them THROUGH this time with the least amount of damage to their bodies, minds, spirits, reputations...etc. I tell the kids at school that their brains have been overtaken by hormones. No contest. Gotta push through to keep control over themselves. Their brains will return to normal in a few years! ;)

I like that--"temporary insanity"! Yes, I remember reading about how teen's frontal cortexes are still developing & it's our job as parents to *be* the frontal cortex for them. Not always easy & sometime I feel like *I'm* the one going insane!

Thanks WinterBlossom! Temporary insanity for sure! I agree with you that it is our job to just get them through with the least amount of damage to their well being BUT how do you do that and keep your own sanity? Hormones, frontal cortexes, reputations and I feel so unprepared.

How are you supposed to maintain your own sanity while keeping control of theirs? They are only 13, IT IS JUST STARTING..
