What could be the problem? Sorry its a tummy/poopy thing...

My 5 year old daughter keeps complaining her stomach hurts and has for the last month straight. X-ray showed she was backed up... but shes still going, but having accidents at times. They gave her Miralax but it made her have diarrhea so I cut way back on it, and give it when she complains her poop is hard...

When she has accidents its usually several in a row then she goes a lot in the toilet.. I asked if shes holding it but shes not clear... yes... no... dark rooms scare her.. but she has accidents during the daytime too.

She complain daily it hurts above her belly button.. thoughts?

Follow up with your doctor, maybe keep a food journal also to see if anything is triggering these episodes. It could be an intolerance to one type of food or an allergy. A friend of mine watched her son suffer for years only to later find out he couldnt tolerate gluten. Changing his diet changed everything around. Keep pushing for answers if your daughter is still uncomfortable.

I am sorry to hear that your family is experiencing this kind of trouble. It can be so frustrating when you don't know what is going on and know something isn't right. These are the things I'd wonder: Is her diet offering enough natural fiber? Is she drinking enough fluids? Is she scared to go because she remembers the times when it hurt? Is she having gas pains? Is she eating lots of fresh vegetables? I know sometimes that it can be rough. Just keep the faith and know that you will find the answer and get her going regularly. Think positive. : )

Have they tested for hernias? They can be caused during delivery, also back problems caused during labour can cause children to become constipated later in life during a growth spurt.

I wonder if you saw a chiroprator or masseuse if the doctors can't help??
I just read those things somewhere before, it's apparently common with forcep delivieries and posteria deliveries.
