About a year and a half ago my daughter broke out in sores on her mouth, chin, neck, and tongue and gums. It was BAD. She couldn't eat, drink, she sobbed all the time....nuts. We took her to the doc and were told it was Impetego...given medication, and in a few days it was basically gone.
Fast forward, she has had it five times this year. And EVERY time the docs tell me there is no way it's impetego and they give us all this stupid herpes medication...creams, liquids, pills. And NONE of it works. My daughter gets more and more in pain and she cries and I can't get a single damn doctor to just give me impetego medication! Last time it was down her throat and onto her chest, on her hands and arms and the one doctor told me it was from her licking her lips in the cold!!!!
Last time after four different doctors I just used some Bactroban a pal had and it cleared it up. Now she had another sore today, and her dad took her to walkin....and they prescribed cold sore cream. It's already starting on her chin. And I have no access to Bactroban this go round I don't think.
Do cold sores spread like this?? And that fast? She will go from one to about forty within twelve hours. Plus, does Bactroban cure both? I'm so frusterated! I just want what I KNOW works, instead of having to go through doctors to try everything I know DOESNT work! I can't get into see our family doc anytime soon, so I have to rely on ER docs and walk in clinics.

We have a GP, I get free healthcare, but often you get what you pay for! And I can't get her in to see our doc for two weeks or more. They did a culture last time and he told me it was inconclusive! Nothing I've read makes it seem like impetigo other then location and how fast it spreads. But I know it's not cold sores! The spots on her chin vanished overnight but she woke up with a fever.....so maybe, if I'm lucky, this time it IS a cold sore.
She has never had a fever and the blisters at the same time before. But it also snowed last night, and is still going strong so the weather change could account for the fever. And the sore could be something else. This is the first time it didn't spread like wildfire across her hands and arms, it's just staying in that one spot and it looked similar to what she had before. So it is possible I jumped the gun and it's really a cold sore lol
To see if it is a cold sore, cut out all foods containing amino acid argenine (wheat, chocolate, peanuts, seeds) and stick with produce and animal products and corn and rice. That will starve the herpes virus. I never go to the doctor for herpes any more. I also grow lemon balm and make it into tea. Lemon balm leaves are suited to kill the heroes virus and suppress outbreaks. Nature is amazing.
