OK so my DS is 9.5 months old and is standing (not alone) and starting to move himself around furniture. MOST of the time we leave shoes off because we know it is good for him to feel the ground...but at the same time we wanted him to have a pair of walkers to get used to those as well. So my parents went out and took him to a children's shoe store and had him properly fitted and got him a great pair of shoes...his first walkers! I was however FLOORED at his shoe size. He isn't even 10 months old yet and my little boy is wearing a SIZE 5!!!!!! For those of you with kids in shoes what sizes are they in?

My son had to get a size 5 extra wide when we got him fitted at 12 mos, but it was more for the width of his foot than the length. I was surprised too. But I got him a pair of sneakers for muddy days at Walmart that are a size 3 in their size. So I honestly don't know.

My daughter is almost 19 months and a size 5 is still a bit too big, but a size 4 is too small. So she wears size 5, but there is lots of toe room. At ten months when my daughter started to walk she was in a size 3.

My daughter was in a size 3 when she was about a year old. Now she's 22 months and wears a size 6-ish. Just like everything else though the sizes vary by brand...

My daughter is 11 months and wears a size 3. Where do you go to get fitted for children's shoes nowadays? I don't think we have anywhere around me that I know of...

We just went to striderite yesterday and my 18 month old son was a 4 medium. I've only had wal-mart and babies r us shoes so far and I had him size 2's. I did buy a 3 from walmart so when he grew out of the 2's I would have them and j compared ten to the 4's from striderite and they are the same.

My oldest was in a 5 1/2 at one year, my middle was just about growing out of a 4 at one year, and trevor who is 11 months now is in a 4, but I do not know how much longer.

Like otehrs have mentioned... different shoe brands fit differently. For us, we never go smaller but sometimes have to go bigger.

My kids never had little feet. They were all as long as my index finger when born and didn't fit into any of those tiny, cute little newborn shoes! LOL

DS just turned 9 months we we had him fitted yesterday and bought a 4.5 Extra Wide for now and a 5 for this summer.

But my nephew is 3mo and is wearing a size 3 already (his dad has big feet)
