We had the same problem with my DS but we just dealt with it and had a lot of laundry to do. Day-care went through at least one outfit a day. We also gave him a lot of sponge baths as well. We did try other diaper brands because we got different kinds at my showers, but it happened with all of them and pampers were the only ones that he didn't pee out of. It stopped once he started sitting up. Gravity did it's job.... I hope you can find a solution. Good luck!

You may want to up the size of the diaper you are using. We had this problem but when we went up a size it got better

Agree with the larger size comment. Every time that has happened to us, moving up to the next size seems to solve the problem.

Yeah, we moved to the next size up, and it seems as though that is why it is happening. There is a big gap in the back between her back and the diaper, even when we pull the diaper tight. I'm gonna try maybe pulling it up more in the back, as we have had no issues with leakage out the front! Maybe that may work! If not, its gonna have to be extra loads of laundry I guess! LOL!

We found this happened when we didn't catch the poop right away. Like as she was laying and squirming it would make it's way up her back. So, I would suggest more frequest checks. ALso, once she started on some cereal her poos got much thicker and this wasn't an issue.

I actually had that problem with Huggies, and when I switched diaper brands it went away. But my daughter was in Huggies Preemies and the Pampers Newborn were massive on her, they went to her nipples lol so I guess that would be like going up a size too!

We use Pampers cause we had the same problem with Huggies...you might just wanna buy some of the smallest packs available of different kinds and try them all to see what works best for you

Hi K. We have this problem occassionally too. We use Huggies and it seems to happen when DD is sitting. I think with the solids, she's not constipated but there is just more force behind her BM. When she is sitting, her body blocks off the front part of the diaper, so the pooh goes straight up. And like you, we end up washing her up to her shoulder blades. She may be outgrowing the twos but we have enoug leftover I want to use them before we upgrade. Glad to know we aren't the only ones going through this!

Huggies seems to have more "elastic" at the back and fits more snugly than Pampers and that may help keep everything in the diaper. I've also found that some of the cheaper diapers work as well or better than the more expensive ones, for example, I've had good luck with the Target brand, Luvs as well as Walmart and Safeway brands. I guess I'm not that brand loyal, as long as they work and the price is right, I buy them.
