My 7 yr old daughter loves the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. She also likes the Disney Fairies chapter books. We get them from the library.

My daughter loves Junie B Jones and Amelia Bedelia books. She also enjoys the Magic Treehouse books.

my daughter is about to turn 7 and is in the 1st grade (stupid age cut-off. she barely misses it.) and she have moved on to chapter books recently. so far she is a big fan of the the Ramona books by Beverly Cleary. She is half-way through Ramona the Pest and is already asking when she can get the next one!

Here is our favorites list.....my kids are big readers.
Magic Treehouse1-42, Dragon Slippers, Dragon flight(2), Dragon spear(3).......this dragon series is about a girl, it's amazing and very sweet. Tuesdays at the castle, this is the same author as the dragon series-Jessica Day George. The Disney Fairy books are fun. American Girl, Daisy Meadows Fairy books, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(WAY better than the movie), Brass Dragon Codex(this is a series too), Dragonology Chronicles(another series), The Dragon of Lonely Island, The Return of the Dragon(2). Rainbow Magic series(lots of books here, very cute), Igraine the Brave.......this was my daughters favorite for a very long time.

My kids are both very good readers and young so I've searched long and hard for advanced books that are also content appropriate. All of these should be available through amazon or at the library.........hope this helps, Happy Reading:)

Magic Tree House books win in this house hands down. Fairy books are popular. Girls like books about horses too. My son who is seven and in second grade enjoys books about other countries. My fifth grade eleven year old likes biographies from the children's section of the library if I read them. I like those too. They are interesting!

Magic tree house, Junie B, Dragon Keeper, Thea Sisters and Geronimo stilton are all great chapter books. The stilton books are colorful, educational and enjoyable reads they have some pictures and lots of fun facts for kids. Good Luck.

Hi, I think the library is the best place for finding out different and good kids books. There is no need to restrict your kids reading list when the books are chosen from the library's kids section.

If your daughter likes the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books then she would prolly like the Dork Diaries as well. They are the girl version from the same author and are very cute.

Library is really a great choice. In addition, there are lots of stuff online. DD is fascinated by this site beestar recently. The online worksheets is an excellent idea.

My 6and a half year old likes these books about fairies. They are a little long for her but she is reading a couple of chapters and then I take over . They have them at our library and there are like 50 or so. Haha, by Daisy Meadows.

My daughter is 8 and going into third grade as well. She loves the Dork Diaries Series as well as The Sister's club by MEgan McDonald.
