Paranoia Support Group
Paranoia is a disturbed thought process characterized by excessive anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion. It is often associated with psychotic illnesses, sometimes schizophrenia, although attenuated features may be present in other primarily non-psychotic diagnoses, such as paranoid personality disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder.

I have had paranoia for 20 years but its at its worst. I feel so down and depressed. I feel like people are out to get me. Has anyone ever felt like people just wanted to falsely accuse them or harm them in some way? I have been driving down the road and pass someone and worry they are going to accuse me of trying to run them off the road. Or they could be walking and say I tried to hit them. I would never do anything like that of course, but I live in fear daily. If someone looks at me, I wonder what they are plotting. I feel so alone and helpless. Can anyone at all relate? I am seeing a counselor and i am hoping over time that will help me. Im just so scared all the time.
Would appreciate any responses.. Thank you,

have you looked at medication? i have taken it and it has helped me from this kind of paranoia and what also might be for you social anxiety fears at the same time. look up the difference between social anxiety and paranoia. thanks

That is a common fear among people with paranoia, so you are definately not alone in feeling that way. Are you taking any medications right now along with seeing your counselor? If not, that would be a good thing to look into, as they can be very beneficial.

I have similar thoughts and fears and I have started taking medication that helps reduce the level of dopamine in the brain and it has helped me quite a bit. I am still struggling but sites like this help me to connect with others who are going through similar things and help me to rationalize my thoughts. thank you for sharing and know that you are not alone.

i can relate to all of this. I thought i was the only one too. i always feel that people are out to hate me and do something harmful to me. My friends dont understand and think that paranoia is a joke. Its not okay. Its a scary feeling and im guessing we arent the only ones. maybe you sould look into anxiety as well because that is a possibility. good luck best wishes

i have Definitely felt people are out to get me and i can't do Anything right. i go to work and think everyone is against me. i think they r all making fun of me. y? idk. i feel like they're mean people but i know that's not true. it's just personal perception i guess. anyway i try to drive as perfect as possible because i think there are police in my town just waiting to pull me over. i go to the store to get groceries and try to avoid anyone so i don't get made fun of or feel stupid if someone talks to me.

I know that it has literally been 6 years since this original post was made but as I was going through these posts, reading them all, I knew that I just wanted to respond to this one as well simply to wish everyone the best of luck with their paranoia. It is a terrible terrible thing sometimes and I just wanted to say that in the time since this post was made, I sincerely hope that things have gotten better for everyone. Best wishes to all and always remember that there are always people out here to help each other and that we all need to rely on each other.
