for those of you seeing psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists etc
you need to know that some of them believe in not giving any direct advice
they wont tell you what you are doing wrong or what you should be doing
eventually this can lead you to think that they cant understand your problems and have no advice for you
it helps to ask "what am I doing wrong" and if no answer, dont bother going back

My niece, who is a carbon copy of me, is seeing a psychiatrist that I feel is doing her more harm than good. She's on some really strong meds and it's like she's just a shell of a person. She is a beautiful 22 year old who suffers from depression and panic disorder, same as me, but I'm really worried about her.

Therapists are usually not supposed to tell you what to do,they are really there for support, to help guide you in the right direction. There are therapists that are better than others, but it is really about a good fit. If you are not comfortable with your therapist, keep searching, because when you find the right one you will be so glad you did.

I terminated with my psychiatrist for exactly this reason. He would sit with his legs crossed in complete silence. It made me so hyper I would literally get sick to my stomach. It took me quite some time to calm down after the session. On top of that, he would only give me buspar for panic attacks: if I told them they weren't helping, he would up the dose by 1/2 tablet....get the jist of what a stiff I depended on? Now I get my AD's from my gp, but will have to find a psychiatrist again as my gp is retiring in a few weeks. Is there really help out there? I'm really doubting it right about now!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
