Hi I'm new here. I've been having panic attacks on and off since I was 15. Panic attack is truly terrifying. People who have never experienced this never know how it feels like! When I get a panic attack, I get dizzy, numbness and tingling sensation in my legs and arms, chest/throat tightness, choking sensation, hot flashes, then I feel like I'm losing control of myself. Even if I know it's just a panic attack, it makes me feel like something is seriously wrong and I feel the urge to run to the ER. I did end up in the ER once and the doctor gave me Lorazepam to take. The worst part is, when I have a panic attack, I get the feeling of detatched from the reality, this is kind of hard to explain, but it's really scary. Also I feel like I have to leave the spot as quick as possible. Sometimes, I can sort of feel panic is comingso I take medication before it controls me, but other times, it happens out of the blue so it's unpredictable.
