hello everyone. I'm new to the group and struggling with panic attacks and major anxiety. Looking for support and feedback. Wondering about CBT THERAPY? It's soooo expensive but wondering if it's worth going broke over

Oh wow that's pretty disheartening . I've always had anxiety and had a breakdown a few years back after years of domestic abuse culminating in my ex being arrested for covering my body in bruises and cuts and 2 black eyes. I've never fully recovered and the anxiety and panic I have now is debilitating. Have you found relief with anything?

I have anxiety and panic attacks. I started medication for it yesterday because i just can't cope anymore. I have tried herbal teas such as chamomile tea which helps me calm down. Try meditation too and practice your breathing. Excercise is great! And i have also joined a self help anxiety group which is free...talking about it helps too and you meet people who are also suffering like you so you are not alone... remember that! All the best

I have wonderful reading material for coping with attacks if you're interested! I am currently going through horrible anxiety which leads to panic attacks. I focus on soothing myself and looking at websites that verify I'll be okay from these attacks

That would be great. Im new so not sure how we communicate aside from on these feeds to get the reading material. A psychologist I messaged just messaged me back today and said she works with havernen therapy and it's supposed have immediate results . But she has a 6 month waiting list. Then I hear about cbt but all these therapies are so expensive

I finally bit the bullet late last year and got medicated for my anxiety and depression. My PCP also really suggested going to some kind of therapy. I pushed it off for ages because the meds were working well with my anxiety but my depression was off the charts. Finally, I decided to start talk therapy and it really has changed my life (esp in regard to delving in and figuring out why I am like this). I was fortunate that my university offers counseling services to students free of charge. If you did a quick search on Google you might be able to find free or cheap mental health services in your area.
