Its the same thing with your brain. Until you are able to get good treatment, you are disabled if you can't work due to your medical condition. But you will have to PROVE that in order to get disability. You will need to get as much support as you can from your doctors--letters and reports to prove why you are unable to work.
That said, be aware that it is a long road to getting disability, and it is not easy. It can take a very long time. So if there is any possibility of you going back in the hospital for treatment, then do it. Do everything you can to get back to work, and get back to your life. Disability should be your LAST resort.
I don't know of anything else I could do. I do sell things on ebay but running out of stuff to sell.
I feel I will not get the disability but I have to at least try.
