Gosh that's a toughie, as everybody is so different when it comes to how to calm oneself....every individual's body make-up acts and reacts differently to various methods.
Some meditate, others take a pill, others listen to relaxing music, exercise, or read certain chapters or quotes from their favourite healing/motivational book,.. and so on.
There's really no magic pill sadly, but I would imagine that even though I don't take pills myself, but if you really want that super quick fix, then I would suppose that taking a Xanax or Valium would do it.
However, what happens when it wears off and you get those 'feeling's' again and again? I feel if you can get into some habit of training your mind to remind yourself that it WILL be okay, nothing is going to happen to you, and it's just the preemptive fear that's possibly the culprit which triggers these thoughts, - that of which you can overcome.
If you can try and start a mental regimen of sorts to fight off these pre-travel fears, (just like an athlete stretching and warming up prior to the game), and once you get in the habit of it, it will become easier as time goes on.
I'm sure you'll be okay, and that's great news that the CT you're undergoing has helped to a degree...that's wonderful!
Stay strong and I wish you a very pleasant and safe journey :)
