Good luck at your psych appointment tomorrow! I hope everything works out good for you and you get some help! I know how awful the racing heart feels, I would not wish it on anyone!
Zen1
Thanks! I wouldn't wish them on anyone either. I pray for a successful day.

This is my first time here and I gotta say it is SUCH a RELIEF to know that I'm not alone in having to live with panic attacks. seeing all these suggestions to better help cope with attacks really helps. my parents and fiance try their hardest to understand what i'm going through, but it's just not the same as talking to people who've been through it. so just want to say THANKS for giving some relief through this tough period and I wish the best for each and every one of you =)

That's interesting to hear what is the scariest from some else who experiences these attacks. For me it is the feeling of derealization...I absolutely hate that because once that feeling comes on then that is when my heart races and the hot flashes and the nausea.

I notice the heartrate first. Then comes the tension. Last night it felt like some one grabbed my spine. It sucks!

zen when a panic attack occurs to not run or flee from it allow it to pass through you i call it a tiny seed of acceptance. allow it to do what it wills with you .you find that that each time if you allow it to pass through you it will go away. each step you make will help you to be confident that nothing will harm you that is within you they are only memories or thoughts alot of times our minds are so busy we cannot grab onto what thoughts we were thinking about to trigger those intense fears. please do this for me and practice no matter where you are remain still practice patience and allow the seed of acceptance to grow. it starts out like a panic attack see it as the tiny seed of acceptance even if you do not know what you are accepting just let it come and through you.WILLINGLY..........YOU WILL NOT DIE NOR ANY HARM WILL COME TO YOU. ALLOW IT TO PASS THROUGH YOU WILLINGLY TRUST IN THAT........
