Chronic pancreatitis can present as episodes of acute inflammation in a previously injured pancreas, or as chronic damage with persistent pain or malabsorption. Patients with chronic pancreatitis can present with persistent abdominal pain or steatorrhea, as well as severe nausea. Some patients with chronic pancreatitis often look very sick, while others don't appear to be...
I don't have an answer and often wondered this same question. I sympathize with you. I, too, can't really afford to rest the pancreas with my weight loss. I do feel better when I don't eat but how will we ever gain the weight?! I guess there's a fine line... Hope you feel better soon. Take good care.

Every time I read your posts, it sounds as if I am writing them. Not sure if this is of any comfort, but know you're not alone. I feel your pain (literally!). Hang in there.
The best thing that helps my back pain and my pain in general is my heating pad. If I'm home I can sit with it while I work. Luckily I work from home, when I'm not out on appointments. I'm in sales, so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I even sleep with it. Last night was not a good night I kept waking up and I would put my heating pad back on the timed cycle and after a while I was able to fall back asleep. I also try to keep eating because I lost so much weight when I was trying to find out what was wrong. If the pain is bad, I eat soup with lots of veggies cooked in, you can puree it so it's easier to digest and you still get the nutrients.
Good luck

This may sound silly, but have you tried baby food? Someone recently suggested that to me because it's easy to digest but full of nutrients. It sounded terrible on first suggestion, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. I may have to consider it. Just a thought! Also, I try to constantly eat to gain weight. I wonder if I am doing more harm than good. Oh joy... Have a good day.
