Hey Gang,
So here I am, still not doing great but still making it t work and through life, although it is extremely difficult. My doctor is good but a man of science. Me telling him I have pain, on left side of abdomen and into my back is not science. Telling him I have left shoulder blade pain is not science. Weight loss is not science. Telling him the pain doesn't happen after I eat is not science. He looks at me and thinks... I can not help this guy with digestion because he doesn't have any markers, any thing scientific to show evidence of his disease. I get it.
Eating sugary food and drinks gives me nearly instant pain on my lower left abdomen. Eating meat gives me extreme fatigue and pain that radiates around my back. Although I don't have loose stools, I am hoping he can give me something to help with digestion but I think he will be reluctant to prescribe me anything to treat a disease without clear markers of that disease, and he can find none.
I need help and the OTC enzymes I am taking don't seem to help. What are somethings I can ask my doctor for to help diagnose and treat me? I am willing to try anything. Please if you have questions or statements, can you provide them? Sorry for the short notice and happy Monday everyone.

I have had pancreatitis for eight years. I have had four ERCP's, gallbladder out, thyroid out, and two biopsies for cancer. I was having attacks, major, every two weeks. I couldn't eat meats or fatty foods for six years and now my pancreas has shrunk 70 percent. My case was studied at a national conference. Oddly enough, a little over a year ago, I stopped having attacks and pain. I can eat anything I want. I have gained 40 pounds - too much. This is a crazy disease.
