diagnosed with CP dec2011 after an Eus was done at univ. of AL Birmingham Medical Ctr. My systoms where slight ache sometimes after eating in upper right area (where my GB used to be 30 years ago)
There weren't any certain foods that triggered this, at the time I was doing the Atkins Diet high protein and fat, which from what I've read should have triggered an attack can you have this condition with so few systoms? also I've never had an attack of pancreatitus. Very frustrated with doctors I live in a rual area in the FL panhandle, which is why I went to AL doctors here have no clue about this condition. Does anyone know anout the doctors at UAB? I have a follow-up with a Dr. Mel Wilcox on Jan. 23. What kind of questions should i ask? I'm still eating a normal diet as nothing seems to really bother me think this is safe? Appreciate any help don't kn ow if this makes any difference but have gastritis also. thanks

I might have CP the GI who did test just sent me home with a low fat diet, didn't know how serious CP was until I did research My local doctor here (Panama City, FL) said I had a blocked Bile duct that he couldn't open. My 1st mistake was letting him do a ERCP, I was in alot of pain the next day, maybe he did something to my pancreus?Hopefully on the 23rd I'll get some answers, from my research Dr Wilcox is very Good. But, I cannot say that just because you can eat fatty foods that you do not have CP.
I have many attacks, and daily pain. But from what I understand yours is more of an ache. It is my understanding that you can have CP with little or no pain.
So basically, if it's just an ache, you might be inclined to ignore it, but you must realize, if it is CP, even if you do not have severe pain, you need to keep it under control so you do not do more damage.
So, I would ask what you are asking us, can it be CP with little pain? How can you rule out or rule in CP?
I hope you get the answers you need.
Everyone seems to be different with foods that bother them. It's best to eat low fat if it is CP. Smaller meals help me too. When I'm feeling bad I try to stick with liquids like soup. I would also avoid alcohol too until you figure this out.
I was doing the atkins when I had my attack. I don't know if was just a coincident or what but I'll never do that again.
