Ok, I know this isn't a pleasant subject but I have questions.
How does one know when a stool is too large? Afterall, I've never really seen other's stools.
We have a newbie here...Jimjimo1 and after reading his post about his psuedocyst returning after 2 years, I'm a bit worried that just because I'm feeling pretty good, things maybe aren't as good as I think and my cyst maybe growing. I just messaged my dr to see about checking on it.
I think I have large stools but not sure what this really means.
For a while I was going about 6 times a day but I stopped my probiotics and that seemed to help with the frequency.

I know this is an embarrassing item to discuss, but it is a reality we live with. I have had CP for eight years. I have had four surgeries. One was to take out my parathyroid which was dumping calcium into my pancreas - after this surgery my pain completely subsided.. For the last four years, I have had no pain at all, but my stools are very different the last three months. I go the bathroom eight times a day and the stools are yellow in color. It seems gross, but there seems to be blood floating. I was told that my pancreas has shrunk 52%. I'm afraid this is a final sign of failure?
I've had yellow stools for a long time, way before I had AP in Jan. Prior to my AP, I had a lot of stomach trouble. It started when I moved and had a lot of stress in my life, around 2005. I was bloated all the time and had an endoscopy for reflux. Dr said I had more bile in my stomach than he had ever seen before. He gave me carafate and nexium. I wonder if my pancreas was the problem way back then.
I told the dr about my yellow stools several times, actually to 2 diff dr and they didn't seem a bit concerned about it. I do notice if I eat more greens, especially spinach, it gets darker.
I was told if you had fresh blood in the stools, if you let it sit a while before flushing, the water could turn pinkish. We noticed this in my dad, when he didn't flush one day.
I'm still learning from you all here about CP vs a case of pancreatitis which is what dr says I have...
Johnathan, if you had CP for 8 years but the last 4 were pain free, how is that chronic? Would that mean the INFLAMMATION never went away?
Have you seen the dr lately?
I'm such a worrier that when I read things on this board, I work myself into a frenzy some days...worrying about what could happen to me. Everyone tells me to not read here, but it's the only place I get information.
I have large bulky stools, usually unformed with an orange tinge.
my stools were clay colour when I had an acute attack. x 3times. and quite large for me.
large stools. colour (au not color LOL) if they are moist . dry . oily.

I see a doctor about every month. I am lucky enough to have very good resources and I have been at most of the primer doctor offices' (hospitals) around the state of California - Mayo,USC, Samsun Clinic, UCLA, etc. Sharp, who I am with now, knows as much as any place I have been. Basically, no one knows much about the disease. I hear the advise on this site and it helps - three things you should do is don't drink, don't eat red meat, and eat smaller meals. I can eat anything else with no restrictions. Remember, I went from throwing-up a few years ago, every night, to having no troubles. Yes, I believe my pancreas is permanently inflamed. When I had attacks, I actually had them every two weeks. Five months ago, I was diagnosed with two blood clots - one on my pancreas and one in a major tube.
I had small, hard stools for years. Then they turned WHITE (as in totally toliet paper white - you couldn't tell them apart). Then about a month ago, after upping my dose of stool softners, I had a 'corner' poo!
For those who don't know what a corner poo is, picture your large intestine which starts at the buttocks and goes straight up your left side, then goes around a corner sideways, then around another corner down the right side. Kinda like the bottom part of a capital H, ya know?
So any poop that turns the corner is BIGGGGGGG! I had a corner poo then had a 6 timer one! As in it went back and forth six times.
Man, we are such a special group, aye? Who talks about poo so much and with such relish? And celebrates poo!! I love you all - we gotta laugh, aye? You can never have too much poo... Nibs :)
