I am going through serial stenting of the pancreatic duct. I had my first one in early August. The second one was September 20 and I am schedule for my 3 rd on Novemeber 8. After the second one they sent me for an xray about 10 days later. I never got any results so I assumed that everything was fine. I went to my family doctor today and he told me that on the xray there is no stent visualized......
I was under the impression that the stent would stay in there until the 3rd ERCP. Am I wrong?

I was told that I could pass my stent or they would remove it. My 2 stents within my duct stayed in place, but I passed the small stent that they used for my biliary sphincterectomy. I would call your dr who performed the procedure to check in with them and get their thoughts.

I got the answer and the stent is supposed to be there but it is gone. Now I have to go in next week for the ERCP that was scheduled for November 8.

my first stent was suppose to pass on its own...they sent me for an x-ray and it wasn't there, so i was told i had passed it on my own....BUT i had to go in for another ercp and they found the stent still where they had placed it, scar tissue covered it so that's why it didn't show on the xray...they had to cut it out n then i had a big flare from the removal

I am convinced that the wrong stent was put in. After my 2nd ERCP with the stent placement I got an order for an xray to see if temporary stent was gone. i called my docrtors office to question this and they said that this was a standard form and they just wanted to see if it was placed properly. I had a previous ERCP one year ago and they put in a temporary stent and I needed an xray. I did not need an xray after the first stent...I have my imaging reports from my ERCPs...the first ERCP had a 7 french 3cm placed in my duct...the second one had a 7 Fremch 2 cm. i know the cm deals with length but I am convinced they put in the wrong size....the worst part is I finally ahd relief but now I do not because I am back with the same pain and discomfort that I had before....it just makes me want to cry!!!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
