In time I ended up having many medical issues including an MRCP which showed multiple cysts. I am now trying to figure out what that means. The doctor is also speculating that I had or have pancreatitis. I do not drink. I simply cannot function. Recently I met with my GI doc and her PA. The PA accidentally told me that I was at high risk for pancreatic cancer but then said, "No, I'm sorry. I read the scan wrong". When the doctor came into the room, I told her what had happened and she disagreed with my being at risk for cancer. She suggested sending the scans to a pancreatic specialist. I got a call from the PA who sait "The pancreatic specialist says that you have a 5% chance of getting pancreatic cancer". I told her that I wanted to see the specialist myself because he told me a year ago when I met him that the chances of the cysts becoming cancerous were 1000 to 1. So I am not feeling well and now I am terrified about all of this.
I have chronic pancreatitis, mine is not caused from drinking either. I had a large stone blocking the pancreatic duct and they were not able to remove when they went the first time to remove it, so I had to see a urologist who broke up the stone and then the
GI doctor went in and removed the pieces. He said it
Would most likely give me chronic pancreatitis, which it
did. I am taking Creon before I eat, but I am not eating very much.I am just starting this journey with chronic pancreatitis any info would be greatly appreciated.
I am not sure what you should do.
Have you ever tried to have them removed or is that possible? My GI doctor also worked with a urologist
Who was familiar with blocked ducts. Hope you are able to get some relief.
I am also a chef - which complicates my profession since I need to taste what I prepare.
