Chronic pancreatitis can present as episodes of acute inflammation in a previously injured pancreas, or as chronic damage with persistent pain or malabsorption. Patients with chronic pancreatitis can present with persistent abdominal pain or steatorrhea, as well as severe nausea. Some patients with chronic pancreatitis often look very sick, while others don't appear to be...
So sorry to hear not only of your pain but also the long, difficult road to diagnosis. It sucks.
I have many of the same symptoms AND a fatty liver. As you probably know, fatty liver disease can cause fatigue, nausea, sweating, itchy eyes, etc. In fact, I just googled it to refresh my memory and I noticed that I have most of the symptoms, go figure.
I also have to lose weight altho not sure what a stone it. Unless it's a gall or kidney stone? Haha. I also noticed you said you're a vegetarian. Wikipedia mentions needed to have enough of the right proteins and good fats. Maybe you need to record your diet for a week or two and see how much of them you're really getting. Also, have you tried googling fatty liver?
The good news is that you can treat and even reverse this disease! Yay! Finally something that you can actually do on your own, eh? In fact, I'm going to renew my efforts today thanks to you.
Hope this day brings you some joy and relief. Take care, Robbin aka Nibbor (get it?)
I saw the doc yesterday and following my ultrasound seeing a fatty pancreas and my other symptoms (pain in back, sick/nausea when I eat fatty foods and oily stools) he's referring me to a specialist as he thinks I have a 'pancreatic condition'.
He said he was surprised to see that I have a fatty pancreas as all my other organs looked good, and no signs of a fatty liver.
Either way - I've got to wait up to 6 weeks to see the specialist, so all I can do is carry on as I am. Low fat meals and smoothies. I'm just ready to get a proper diagnosis and move on, whatever it is!
Thank you for your support and I hope your renewed efforts help!
x
Please keep us posted on your progress as will I, we all need to share <3
Have you looked in to a gastritis diet? By eliminating certain things (booze, dairy, nightshades - potatoes, tomatoes, aubergines and chilli, caffeine) you can help relieve your tummy.
It's so frustrating isn't it? Seems never ending.
I hope you get answers soon x
They scheduled me for extended endoscopy
They scheduled me for extended endoscopy. I asked about EUS SHE BELIEVES IS NOT CHRONIC PANCREATITIS.
Please let me know how you make out, I am going back to see my GI Dr tomorrow, my endoscopy showed mild chronic gastritis but this pain/discomfort is driving me crazy and I want a definitive answer as to when it will improve and to be certain that it is not something with my pancreas also.
I had a CT scan with contrast this morning, waiting for the results... please let me know how you are doing as well.
