Chronic pancreatitis can present as episodes of acute inflammation in a previously injured pancreas, or as chronic damage with persistent pain or malabsorption. Patients with chronic pancreatitis can present with persistent abdominal pain or steatorrhea, as well as severe nausea. Some patients with chronic pancreatitis often look very sick, while others don't appear to be...
Tell your doctor. They don't always listen, but if you don't tell them they definitely can't help.
For me I drastically changed my diet. I went GF, meat free, dairy free..almost FAT free, low sugar. It's taken these past three months to get things under some control. It's not perfect, but the muscle type pain is almost gone. I can't overeat or it all starts again. Stools are solid again (they were horrific prior to changing diet). I had an ERCP and no pseudocysts. This is a very confusing disease. I'm just really trying to watch my diet PERFECTLY. I HATE IT!!...but I hate the pain and fear of everything getting worse more...so I keep doing it. I still have pain but it's manageable...nights are worse for me...I get a lot of burning pain at night.
I am waiting back to here if I can get a referral for just a CAT scan. Anyone have TRICARE?? I'm not impressed at all with government health. I just got married so dropped my Anthem/Sutter health and now have Tricare...granted it costs me practically nothing...and now I now why. I've been waiting 21 days for a referral to see a dermaltalogist for a growth on my leg...I went in last week personally and they said someone would call me. no calls. So I went in today and they say I never had a referral. I guess you get what you pay for.
I have to admit my diet hasn't been perfect, but they keep telling me I'm fine and that my pancreas got inflamed because I passed a gall stone into it, but technically my pancreas is not sick... I think it has been damaged and everyone wants me to stop trying to make this into more than it is...
Jinxy7 - what ARE you eating? There's practically nothing left!
:~( I'm gonna have to go back to 25 grams of fat again and see if that helps. THIS is almost impossible and life is so sad if you can't celebrate it with food. Food is at every celebration.
I did over eat at Chevy's the other day...a huge veggie bowl..fairly health but it was so much and so good and I just kept eating...and this is when everything got worse. More so than watching my diet, the portion control is what gets me. I eat the right things...just stuff myself and KNOW that isn't good. But when the fear kicks in...I can get back on track real fast... I'm already there.
Thanks for your comments.
I'm more scared of a new pseudocyst then pancreatitis.
I'm trying so hard to be positive. I'm a very negative person and worry about everything. I truly admire people who have cancer or such horrible health issues and they can take each day as it comes and always manage to see the good in everything.
AND I'm worried that I wont get good care. When I went for my blood work yesterday at TRICARE - government health I wasn't impressed AGAIN. The guy who took my blood must of have been new on the job (as everyone seems to be there) firstly he wiped my arm with alcohol ....THEN he touches his station, things on it, and the drawer and then taps my arm again to find the vein...didn't that just contaminate me??? I should have said something like...could you please wipe with alcohol again...who knows what germs are on that drawer handle...but didn't.
Then he misses my vein..so we go to the other arm..in the mean time, my first arm is bleeding all over itself.
I hope the guy that does my CAT scan isn't a newbie too!!!!
I worry if I do have a pseudocyst, somebody inexperience could be working on me NOW THAT SCARES ME.
One day at a time.....right?
