I was diagnosed with gastritis and my symptoms have been severe pain in my upper stomach for a very long time. It eases off for about a day and a half then flares up again. It comes on when I eat and drink anything. Anyway recently I had a CT scan as the gastro wanted to check that my pancreas wasn,t causing a problem with the pain Ive been getting. Now he says my pancreas looks fine but the problem is that a cause has not been found for my gastritis. Could I still have problems with my pancreas even though the CT scan looked normal? Someone on a forum says he has symptoms like gastritis and his CT scan was normal yet an ultrasound Endoscopy showed it was pancreatitis. Im worried now. Whats the symptoms of pancreatitis and how is it treated? Its proberly just the gastritis and Im going to have another endoscopy so I will see. Whatever I just want to get well. Also he gave me some pancreas enzymes. Does anyone have any experience with these? Thanks for help and views.

you will need t get more tests done...maybe more invasive to see if it is the pancreas...but the pain from gastritis can be just as bad as pancreatitis. Everyone is different so let your dr do the diagnosing. Good Luck

I've been experiencing what sounds like the same pain. I was diagnosed with gastritis and gastric varices about a year ago. Plus I have a mass of collateral vein growth around my portal vein and when they did the last ERCP the pressure was so high they couldn't insert the scope part of the way. Blah. Anyway, since I was diagnosed the pain and burning has steadily been getting worse. I take carafate to help, but the timing is terrible... when I eat I have terrible pain and burning but have to wait 2 hours before I can take it because I take Creon with everything I eat. Carafate is supposed to be taken 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking any other medication (try eating the recommneded 6 small meals a day and figuring out the timing!!!) . So I went to my regular doctor hoping she would say I could take Tums or something else when I eat (couldn't get in to see the GI for 6 weeks). She prescribed a time release Prilosec -- i haven't taken it. I know its stupid, but the first thing listed as potential side effect is pancreatitis! So now I'm waiting 6 weeks to get into my GI... he'll probably sign me up for a bunch of horrible tests and I'm dreading it...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
