Over weight with chronic pancreatitis

Am I the only lonely over weight person with chronic pancreatitis?

I dont fit the typical norm with anything in life it seems.

I am very very insulin resistant which is one of the main reasons why Im fat. People who are insulin resistant easily gain weight with carbohydrates. Carbohydrates makes one be even more insulin resistant. It is a catch 22.

Well due to the CP causing nausea and the stomach-ickies sometimes the only things I can eat are things that are bland and high in carbs such as toast and rice.

Carbs also raise my blood sugars.

There are times where I can not eat much for a week due to CP and Ill still be fat :(

You'd think all the time in the bathroom, due to the CP, would make me lose weight but oh no not me.

We seem to have an expert in the group here miss sophie, perhaps you would like the wonderful honor of being our official CP fart collector? It has no pay and no benefits and will probably require you to travel great distances on your own dime, but just think of all the wonderful scenery you will see and the happy people you will meet along the way to collecting our final product! Of course you will receive an official thank you from company officials and the chance to buy your own special gift pack at an employees reduced cost! hee hee hee, ok someone else run with this it's givin me a headache, fof lol, I have stitches folks cut it out damn it....fof lmbo, i'm too old for this shit, lol

My dear mother has never been able to understand my warped since of humor. She just dont get potty humor like my dad and I do. She thinks it isnt normal. Im so glad Im not normal then cause it sure sounds boring!

The last time I did collecting was some samples at the hospital...and lets not bring up age.. But hey any time I get an excuse to travel is okay by me... Think I can write it off on my taxes? How do I list that on my business card ?

Then of course we will have to find someone with a nose to help identify the type of FARTS...

Do we separate the farts by part of the country we live in? Rocky Mountain High Pitch Farts. Kentucky Blues Farts. Grand Canyon Echoing Farts.

Then what about the luxury Fart? I think you must eat caviar & truffles....

This thread is nearly 5 years old but wondered if anyone has had any luck losing weight? I too have CP and have gained a great deal of weight despite eating a bland diet and swimming religiously. Very frustrating as everyone eat and drinks in front of me!

Are you on Creon? Taking that faithfully before eating (and even drinking coffee with creamer) and keeping my fat intake to 20% of the calories in each meal has stopped the pain I would get from eating. Maybe a dietician could help by creating a low-fat, diabetic diet based on foods you like.

I, like many others don't have many friends due to my withdrawal when I have been sick. Even my family doesn't truly understand. I have never wanted anyone to see me when I am so sick so I either don't make plans because I am concerned that I will get sick & need to stay home or sometimes I would try to go & get sick in front of everyone I hated having to be around others throwing up or feeling as if you were going to throw up holding your stomach or curled in a fetal position wishing that you felt human so that you could do what everyone else was enjoying, not being able to make plans because you never know how you will be when the time comes.
