Mayo Clinic

After a rather grim and somber discussion with my GP, in which he finally told me what no other docter had, he very strongly suggested that I get to Mayo Clinic and soon. So, I was wondering if anybody on here has had any experience with Mayo clinic with regards to their pancreatitis.

I belong to another support group that had some negative things about mayo. I do not have a link to that group but they can be found in links here as well as under PAI as a yahoo group... Pancreas association international. Good luck.

I went to the mayo clinic near me in Rochester, MN and while they are the ones who finally diagnosed me, they didn;t do much else. I strongly recommend the U of Minnesota for anything pancreas related. They are by far the best group of doctors and surgeons who specialize in the pancreas that I have seen. My doctor there said the Mayo is pretty stingy about diagnosing CP as well. So it may not be worth all the time and effort just to be frustrated in the end.

Like I said, they were great at testing and diagnosing, but as for treatment all they want to do is get you off every pain med you're on. Not really an option for CP.
