Hey all,
This is my first post in a while but I need help and this group is most excellent at offering it.
My journey started on Dec 13, 2005 at 1pm when I had an ERCP for esphogeal spasms. The dr went into my pancreatic duct by accident and released the dye into my pancreas. Many surgeries, hopsital stays, problems, etc. later I'm still experiencing really awful pain. My gastro doc said to resign myself to getting hospitalized twice a year for the rest of my life. My local hospital has become my "Cheers" bar where "everybody knows my name". Remember that TV show? Yep, they greet me by name! I'm famous. NOT.
I have several issues: pancreatitis, fatty liver, gastritis, gastroenteritis, etc. which I'm gonna just call "icky-itis". Snicker. My diagnosis wavers depending on which dr I speak to, what they had for lunch, and which birds are singing, etc. In other words, it seems to me that my diagnosis is changes with the wind! I'm BEYOND frustrated and have pretty much taken a break from them all.
Sadly, my pancreas (or whatever) has decided to throw a temper tantrum. I'm sure you all can identify with a cranky panky, true? If you haven't noticed, I use humor as a way to combat this horrible pain and hopelessness.
The past two weekends my life has screeched to a halt. I can't eat without hideous pain. nausea and sometimes vomitting. These episodes get a bit better after a few days in bed but I never get back to my norm.
I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone else has my issues and if they have any advice. I DO NOT want to go to the ER and/or drs! I haven't been hospitalized since June of last year - a long time for me.
I live a very small life now but I'm unwilling to give it up for this cranky panky attack. Plus, I have an elderly dog that need pretty much constant care. The thought of leaving her makes me incredibly anxious. My husband just doesn't do a great job with my Wyn (dog) and I can't stand to think of her in pain.
Trying hard not to feel depressed. But damn, I'm losing this battle. Help. Sad Nibs :(

And yes! I hear you. I'm sorry, it really sucks. I've been referred to see a specialist on the 8th June, hoping to get a diagnosis nailed down.

I'm struggling again sadly. I was just walking to potty my dog Tues and must have bit down wrong cause suddenly one of my few GOOD teeth just broke off at the gum line. I'm devastated. I've lost so much, I don't want to lose my teeth! Makes me super depressed. Gotta go to Tufts and see if they can save it or give me a post or something. And while I'm there, I need 2 more teeth pulled, 3 root canals and crowns! At least the 2 teeth pulled are in the BACK so you can't see them if I smile.
Do you have dental woes? The docs say all the vomiting has destroyed my teeth. I used to have really awesome teeth: 5 small cavities in 38 years. Now almost every tooth has drama. So painful, expensive and disheartening. :*(
