I also have a couple neck and back conditions so they help me all around. There is a difference between being dependent on something and then being addicted. Being dependent does mean if you stop taking the prescription, you will have withdrawals. However, as long as you do not take more that you are prescribed trying to pursue a "high," and take what you are prescribed just enough for pain relief, you will be ok. If you want to get off the pain reliever, you need to work with your pain mgt. doctor and titer down on the medication under his supervision.
Are you able to go about your normal life on the medications, I am in a lot of pain but don't want to turn into a Zombie...lol, I have always had a busy life and babysit my grandchildren a lot but the pain is making it so difficult
So I do think it will get better for you...but it takes time. I was told for the past 18 months it's not CP..but just the other day, my Lipase was elevated again, and my dr. said "I do think you have Mild Chronic Pancreatitis"..that's the first time I've heard it from a dr...I'm bummed...but I just am trying to accept it..like others have said here and do what I can to improve things.
I love sugar and I've been a little bad lately...too much fat along with the sugar. Holidays!!
