acute attack

can anyone tell me what an acute attack feels like? can you get a mild one without much pain or is that unlikely?

Anytime I've had an acute attack, I would wait (like a fool) for 2-3 days and eat only broth - if I cannot keep a tablespoon of water down, I go to the er. There is a LOT of pain involved. Trust me, you'll know.

Apparently I had a mild one after my gallbladder removal - my levels only went up to 220 max. I was in quite a bit of pain (had some morphine at first) but it was manageable. My levels have been elevated since (3mths today since my op) and I'm still in pain.

Even with the mild attack I was not allowed to eat so if you think you might be having one I'd stop eating and drink fluids (I wasn't allowed fluids but was on a drip, obviously if you are at home you will need to keep fluid intake high).

don't think I'm having one but wondered if I could've HAD one and not known it. Just wondered if that could've started it. I was eating and drinking normal though. Had some pain that would come and go. Nothing severe.
